This mugshot from Justin Bieber's Miami Beach arrest is sure to be the most viral pic of 2014, and we're not even out of January yet. I don't think we need to see any more celebrity pics from February through December that will top this one. Plus it's so non-gangster.
The 19 year old mysteriously talented singer was arrested and suspected of being under the influence of marijuana, alcohol, and prescription pills after allegedly drag-racing in a residential area (possibly with a R&B singer friend). Reports show he was clocked at around twice the posted speed limit. In Florida, those under 21 are considered DUI at only .02 blood alcohol level (+-1 drink). He was driving a Lamborghini at the time. To top it off, his Georgia drivers license came up invalid. This comes in the wake of a raid conducted at his CA residence that was still a big part of the news cycle. All sorts of bad press are popping of for The Biebster. If a bail bond is posted for the whipper-snapper, we'll keep you updated.
This mugshot from Justin Bieber's Miami Beach arrest is sure to be the most viral pic of 2014, and we're not even out of January yet. I don't think we need to see any more celebrity pics from February through December that will top this one. Plus it's so non-gangster. A twenty eight year old Las Vegas Metropolitan Police detective is on unpaid relief of duty now while an investigation is underway for some very heinous crimes against a very vulnerable victim. Detective George Godfrey was arrested and charged with felonies associated with using technology to lure children, burglary with intent to commit a felony, and attempted statutory seduction. Basically, he is charged with trying to seduce a 14 year old girl. Last month (December), the girl was arrested by the detective for prostitution at the Bellagio. The officer allegedly propositioned the girl while dropping her off at the juvenile detention center.
Police set up surveillance at the girls home after they were notified by the girl's mother about the officer's conduct toward her daughter. Police set up the operation in an adjacent room where they caught Godfrey soliciting the girl while he was under the assumption the victim's mother was "sleeping" that night. Bail was set at $40,000, and the officer posted bail last Friday according to records. We will keep you updated as the George Godfrey case unfolds. Unintended consequences. Unintended consequences. That thought just keeps going through my mind. The city of Henderson NV has already put a hold on putting legalized medical marijuana dispensary policy in action. I see increased recreational use rising, more intoxicated drivers on the road, and society in Las Vegas degrading further. There is no doubt about a need for many in pain to have access to marijuana, but how many "clients" like that will there be really? I know several savvy businessmen salivating over starting a dispensary. Believe me, they know who their clientele will be.
The pair suspected in the road rage shooting incident on the Las Vegas Strip during Christmas week appeared in court on Monday where a judge reset their bail bond amount at $500,000 each. According to Clark County Detention Center online records, Brittanie Merritt-Burwell is facing charges related to attempted murder with a deadly weapon and Battery with a deadly weapon. The co-defendant, Joshua Youngblood is likewise facing a $500,000 bail and is accused of aiding a felony offender and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. Merritt-Burwell claimed initially she acted in self-defense.
Court records show the two will appear in court (if bail is not posted) at their preliminary hearings on January 17th in the morning. Merritt-Burwell has been assigned a public defender. We have no confirmation as to whether Youngblood has retained a private attorney or has been appointed one by the state. We will keep you informed as we get new, reliable info. Today is moving day!
